About C.Prout
My background
I've been working with agricultural and plant machinery for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a Engineering family, I was learning the trade alongside my dad and brother before I could see over the bonnet. It's in my blood, and that hands-on background has shaped everything about how I work today.
I spent many years in the servicing and repairs side of the industry, building up my knowledge across a wide range of machines and manufacturers. But over time, my interests shifted. I found myself drawn more and more towards diagnostics, remapping and the technical problem-solving side of the work - the jobs where other engineers scratch their heads and aren't sure where to turn. That's where I thrive. I love the challenge of troubleshooting a fault that nobody else can crack, and finding a solution that actually works.
Over the last few years, I've made the decision to specialise fully in remapping and machinery sales. It's where my passion lies, and it's where I can offer the most value to my customers.
The business
I launched C.Prout Engineering Ltd back in 2019, starting out with just a van and a determination to do things properly. Those early years were spent building relationships, earning trust, and proving that a one-man operation could deliver the same quality of work as the big players - often better, because you were dealing with me directly from start to finish.
As the business grew, I moved into a small rented workshop to give myself more space and capability. That was a big step at the time, but it wasn't the end of the journey. Today, I'm proud to say that I own my own workshop in Gloucestershire. It's a space I'm continuously investing in - upgrading equipment, improving the setup, and making sure I've got everything I need to do the job properly.
For particularly large or complex jobs, I work closely with other trusted contractors to bring in additional expertise when it's needed. That means you get the right skills on the job, every time, without me trying to be something I'm not.

Outside of work
When I'm not working on customers' machines, you'll probably find me tinkering with my own. I've got a small fleet of tractors that I love to work on in my spare time, and I enjoy getting out to runs and rallies whenever I can. I'm also a family man - happily married to my wife, who runs her own business too, and a proud dad to our boy Leo. When we get the chance, we love to travel and spend time together as a family.
